Beauty/Fashion Tip Of The Week:

Sometimes it's hard for us to get beautiful, healthy, shiny, hair. But here are just a few things you can do that actually make your hair worth being there:

1) Rinsing your hair with hot water only dries your scalp and burns your hair, making it look stiff and causes more split ends. ALWAYS rinse your hair with cool water to get the texture and shiny look you want!

2) Rinsing your hair with cool vinegar oil makes it shine! It may stink, but the smell goes out quickly after you comb through your hair. If it doesn't, then you might have used a little too much. Just use as much as you think you should, it depends on how rough your hair looks.

3) Don't blow-dry your hair. That causes more split ends and also burns your hair. For more beautiful less puffy hair, let it air dry!

4) A really good shampoo that I recommend is Pantene. This makes your hair really shiny!

School Tip Of The Week:

When you're sick, you can't go to school. You probably think, "OMG! NO SCHOOL, NO WORK!!!" Then you lay in bed and the thought comes to you, "Well, what about all of the important homework that's due today? What about that project that is due tomorrow? Will I get an "F"???" If you follow these steps, this won't be such a big mess:

1) ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, write down your homework in a notebook or planner, etc. This keeps you organized but also keeps you up-to-date on things like homework and school projects. Let's say your teacher writes down all of the homework you need for the week  on the board on a Monday. You go to school Monday-Wednesday but get sick on Thursday and can't go to school. Well, if you write down the homework for the whole week and bring your books home with you, you can easily finish it and bring it to school the next day if you are feeling better. If your teacher doesn't write down the homework for the whole week, you're still in luck...as long as you have a really good friend! Call your friend in the morning before school and tell her/him that you are sick and you need her/him to bring your homework to your house. Ask her/him nicely and I bet he/she wouldn't mind. If you really really trust your friend and you have a locker with all of your books in it, giver her/him your locker combination so he/she can get your books out. You can also stop by your school sometime and pick up your homework from the office. Some teachers write down the homework and send it to the office so one of your parents can come and get it. So see? No stress, even if you don't get your homework, your teacher should understand that you were sick or absent and you can make up your work. It may not sound fun but, hey, it's better than getting a big fat "0", right?

Award Winners - tweens/teens who founded their own non-profits - who will be at the Town Hall Meeting on March 13:  Code Blue, Inc., Cupcakes for Cancer, Green Youth Movement, Kids Helping Kids, Kids Who Care Foundation, One is Greater Than None, and Step by Step. 

CertifiK.A.T.'s of Achievement go to Alexandra Rose Rieger of In a Perfect World, Emerald-Angel young of Tea Party Angels, Megan Kilroy of Team Marine and Johna Rivers and Toni Gutierrez of Actionist Network for their efforts within larger organizations. 

These tweens and teens highlight the very best of what youth today stands for.  They had the insight, the compassion, the courage, the willingness, and ultimately the commitment to stand up, speak out, and lead others by spearheading their own charities or making an impact on a larger non-profit.  I am so thrilled to honor them and look forward to expanding the reach of the awards at future AK Tween events.  We are forming a Network of philanthropic youth.

Disaster News All Around The Globe!

There have been many Disasters in 2010. Like, for instance, A  4.4 Hawaii Earthquake. At about 6:29 PM local time, March 8, a quake situated 13 miles southwest of the census-designated place of Laupahoehoe, or 20 miles west-northwest of Hilo hit Hawaii. The movement was over 19 feet below the earth’s surface, making it a light earthquake. Thankfully, not many people were hurt, nor died.

On March 10,2010, 3 Earthquakes shook Chile. The country of Chile was just the recipient of a 7.2, 6.9, and 6.0 aftershocks from the February 27thquakes.  The natural disasters erupted at the time that Sebastian Pineraw was getting sworn in to office.  It didnt hit a very populated town, but i can tell you this, many people died and got hurt.

On February 27, 2010, An 8.8 earthquake devastated the country of Chile late in February. The Quake Toll Doubles To Over 700 Dead. Some People were interviewed, and said the buildings "Shook Like Jelly" More Then 50 people are still missing.

I think we all know about the Hati Earthquake. The earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010 lasted about 35 seconds. Weeks of improbable rescues, tearful reunions and astonishing displays of resilience followed. Looking out over Hati from his balcony, a man said he "Saw The Earth Shaking, Dust Covering The Area, and Fires Breaking Out." Another Witness Of The Quake Said, "Within 15 blocks of my destroyed home, i saw over 100 people dead on the street." There’s a whole lot of shaking going on in the world, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop any time soon.

So of course I've seen Casablanca & Gone With The Wind. Both not really kewl, but whatev. Okay this blog is a verry verry big deal. There is this absolutley beautiful little two year old baby named Layla Grace. She is sick with stage four neuroblastoma a dangerous type of cancer. She was about 18 months old when she was diagnosted with this horrible cancer. This story im telling you made me cry so hard i was in a ball on the floor saying stop reading it mom stop reading it. Alot of my family has suffered and even died from cancer soo maybe its just that that makes this story so intensely sad to me but if its the same for you please comment. Well when Layla was 18 months old her mom realized she had a fever and she wouldnt eat. She thought it was just tipical teathing behavior but she would not eat for weeks after that. Soo her mom took her to the hospital and and they told her she had cancer. Well with kemo and multiple surgeries and treatments she got better and the cancer went away. But then on January 22 they found out Laylas cancer had came back and they only had 2-6 months left with her. How would you like to hear that about your little sister was dieing and you would not be able to see her anymore. O yeah she has two older sisters that are young too. But anyways they were shocked and scared. Of course. But the saddest part is that now she is so sick she just lays in her bed and sleeps all the time and her dog just lays on her feet and watches her slowly die the dog will not eat or anything and neither will Layla. After a while Layla was sent home from the hospital. But it was just so she would be home and not at the hospital to die. Soon after hearing they only had 2-6 months left with Layla her mom was told that she was only gonna have a couple weeks left. LAyla can not hardly breath anymore and she wont eat or drink or talk or even open her mouth she doesnt get up for longer than 10 minutes she cant stay awake she doesnt even et her parents hold her anymore it hurts her she cant handle it. Layla used to  go around with her feeding tube she had in her tommy and lift people shirt up looking for there tube she was hyper and played and smiled. But now she doesnt do anything at all. She cant lift her head up  she cant be a baby she just sits there like she isnt even alive she only takes 8 breaths per minute you are supposed to take a breath per second. Her mom said and i qute I wish i had thoose days were i would yell and say can i get anyhting done around here and wish that i had peace and quite but now quite is all i have and i hate it i want layla on my feet were i cant do the dishes or mysapce or anything but now i have way too much time i can do the dishes and laundry and everything bbut the only thing i want is no quite no peace if i could go back i would cherish every moment of craziness cus it was over to fast. This family has  touched many other families. Mine alot and others too. I am not related to Layla or her family but  i am absoulutley in love with her like sheis my own sister and i cant stand that she has to go through this. I think all the time there are so many horrible people in the world and you choose a sweet baby to have such a horrible thing happen to her. My mom is scared for her she thinks that she is already dead cus my mom hasnt heard about layla in days no twiters or anything i dont want this beautiful baby to die. See layla has her own blog and twiter and myspace and facebook and clothes and donations and everything so ppeople cancheck on poor layla grace and every peeny the raise is going to beautiful layla grace. Please go to www.Laylagrace.org and make your mom read her blog or your dad or aunt or uncle everyone you can think of make them read this and donate money if they can. this baby does not deserve to die. Not a beautiful BABY. PLease pray for her dearing silent time in school in the middle of class at church at night at dinner at brekfast anywhere. But keep this baby in your heart. Many people are going to here more about this baby form magazines they were interviewed for and from radio and everywhere. But i ask that you read watever you can about this baby got to the website and read this one special poem it is the saddest things ever. I am crying writing this and i want you to have this baby planted in your head like she is in mine. I love this baby and you will too. Please read this and really think about here. I love you all and poor layla grace goodbye.

Hey everyone! So, I just moved to Texas last summer it's been about 7 months and I still hate this place. I really miss California and all my friends there. I don't I'll ever be close to anyone like I was to them. Grrr, my sisters are getting more annoying too because in Cali we'd all be busy with our friends and stuff but now we're always at home. I feel like crying! I miss my old house so much. Sure, sometimes the floor creaked or the toilet wouldn't work and there were so many cat hobos in our street but that was home. And nothing can replace home; where you come from. My stupid apartment in TX can never replace it. EVER. Before we left we gave our house to one of my relatives, so I guess I'll get to visit but still....I'm not trying to be mean, but that was MY house. I don't want to share my memories w/ them and their kids. I hope I'm not sounding selfish, but I probably am. I will be shocked if I  enter that house and I don't start crying. I know I will. I have a memory  in every little corner of that house. Literally, once I tried but there way to many. And it was like a perfect neighborhood too.

Today is the last day of the Olympics and I'm even more sad then yesterday!  I wish the Olympics would last longer, but all good things come to an end (unfortunately)!  Well I enjoyed the games while they lasted!  It sucks that we (U.S.) lost to Canada in hockey today!  We play so hard and made such a big come back with 24 seconds left, but we just couldn't pull it off in the end!  I' ve just realized how much I like hockey, it's similar to soccer and is so intense!  I just love the intensity!  Well I'll make sure to watch a lot more hockey next Olympics!  I wish it came around a little more often, not every 4 years!  Hope you guys enjoyed the Olympics as much as I did!  Can't wait 'till the next Olympics!

There's going to be a tsunami in Hawaii in two hours and five minutes! I don't live there, but here in California everyone is telling you that the tsunami will go in Hawaii and bounce off of there and come here. It's moving at 500 miles right now toward Hawaii. So, they tell us to watch out for strong currents or strong waves. 
     Other than that, it started raining so hard last night!
